Quick answer: Brother’s PT-D410 is the simpler fit for home offices that mainly print 18 mm labels from the keyboard or a computer. The PT-D610BT is the step-up choice when 24 mm tape, Bluetooth/mobile creation, faster printing and a larger template library materially improve the workflow.

What actually changes when you move to the PT-D610BT?
The biggest upgrade is not cosmetic. Brother Canada documents a wider 24 mm tape ceiling on the PT-D610BT versus 18 mm on the PT-D410, plus a 30 mm/sec listed print speed instead of 20 mm/sec. The D610BT also adds Bluetooth Classic so a phone or other supported mobile device can join the label-design workflow. Those differences matter most for inventory labels, shelf identification, larger storage bins and repeated business labeling.
The PT-D410 remains capable for ordinary home-office organization. Brother documents 15 fonts, 120 frames, more than 700 symbols, 30 preset templates and memory for up to 50 frequently used labels. It connects to a PC or Mac through the included USB cable and works with Brother P-touch Editor.
Brother PT-D410: best fit for straightforward home-office labeling
The PT-D410 makes sense when labels are mostly file folders, drawers, cables, pantry or storage bins, and small office supplies. Its 18 mm maximum tape width is enough for many household organization jobs, and the physical keyboard means routine labels do not require opening an app.
Choose it if: 18 mm tape covers your use cases and USB computer editing is enough.
Watch for: buyers who expect mobile Bluetooth creation should not assume the D410 has the D610BT’s connectivity.
Brother PT-D610BT: best fit for wider labels and shared workflows
The PT-D610BT is more appropriate when labels are part of a recurring work process rather than occasional household organization. Brother Canada lists 24 mm TZe support, 30 mm/sec printing, Bluetooth Classic, 175 preset templates, 17 fonts, 160 frames and memory for up to 90 labels. That gives it more headroom for asset labels, inventory and repeated business tasks.
Choose it if: 24 mm tape, Bluetooth/mobile design or higher-volume repeat labeling is genuinely useful.
Watch for: paying for the D610BT makes less sense if your labels stay narrow and are usually created directly on the keyboard.
